Socius Executive Search Earns Pillar Award for Best-Practices in Community Service

CLEVELAND – Dec. 6, 2006 – Socius Executive Search, a Cleveland-based national retained search firm, has earned a 2006 Pillar Award for Community Service. Presented by Medical Mutual and Smart Business Magazine, the Pillar Awards honor companies that positively impact Northeast Ohio communities through charitable giving, volunteerism and support, and showcase the best practices in the link between the for-profit and non-profit worlds. Socius will be honored at the 2006 Pillar Award Banquet, Thursday, Dec. 7, at Executive Caterers at Landerhaven.

“We are honored to accept this award, on behalf of our employees, who have demonstrated a remarkable commitment to community service, and have truly made a difference,” said Rob Huxtable, Socius managing partner.

Socius managing partner Jason Peterson added, “This past year brought out the best in our employees, whether we were raising money for victims of Hurricane Katrina, or volunteering with the Berea Children’s Home.”

Socius’ commitment to social responsibility includes: community action days scheduled during company time, companywide fundraisers to benefit those affected by catastrophic events, and holiday gift drives to support local families in need. The firm boasts 100 percent employee participation in local educational and community causes, and each of the firm's principal partners is a board member of at least one not-for-profit charitable organization. Socius consultant Katie Cook chairs the firm’s community committee and offers, “While we are proud of our 2006 efforts, we are excited about our ambitious 2007 plan which dramatically raises the bar on our community commitment level.”

Socius has signed on as title sponsor of the "2007 Socius Executive Search Race To Remember to benefit the Alzheimer's Association.
